The path on the right may look wide but looks can be deceiving. With a backpack on it was sometimes better to have it in front instead of on my back, I got a good case of vertigo when leaning against a wall overlooking a cliff.

I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to climb to the pyramid up 2500 meters from the village floor. Coming from sea level the day before & not yet acclimated to the altitude the climb up was at best difficult. A look at the fissure & last leg of the climb, almost there...

Salvia nebulosii species growing in the wild used by curanderos .

An Agave species clings to the side of the fissure just below the pyramid.

The fungi population here was somewhat dormant not sending up mushrooms since it was between the rainy seasons. I could still spot mycelia growing from rotting wood & distrubed dirt. This shot is of fungi growing on the side of a log.
